Leveraged by the sales of the New Uno, Fiat Automobiles led the sale of automobiles and light commercial vehicles in Brazil in June, with 60,164 units receiving a license plate. The result expands the leadership accumulated on the first semester of 2010, with a total of 341,459 units receiving a license plate, corresponding to 22.8% of the market. The advantage over the second position in the sales ranking, both in automobiles and in light commercial vehicles, is of over 28,000 units of difference. The numbers were disclosed today (July 12) by the National Association of Car Manufacturers (Associação Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veículos (Anfavea)), based on the National Registration of Automotive Vehicles (Registro Nacional de Veículos Automotores (Renavam).
On its first full month of sale, the New Uno increased the model’s sales to 19,033 units in the month, placing it on the second position among the vehicles that received a license plate on the first semester of the year, with 82,623 units, having the Fiat Palio in third, with 73,522 new license plates. Still during the semester, the Siena sedan confirmed its excellent acceptance by consumers with the leadership in sales of small sedan vehicles, with 59,778 units. In the segment of light commercial vehicles, the Strada pickup maintains its absolute leadership, with 51,707 units receiving a license plate in the semester.
